About Lauren
I recently finished playing Mother Abbess in the National tour of The Sound of Music.
I have a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory. And I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Directing.
I am a professional working actor and director in New York City. I have years of professional, audition coaching, and educational experience.

I offer private coaching in an encouraging and fun atmosphere. Helping students take their skills to the next level, I work on layering in audition strategies. I combine elements from the Stanislavsky, Stella Adler, and Practical Aesthetics techniques. By unlocking specific and bold choices, my students are able to walk into the audition room with confidence and distinction. Cultivating that confidence is one of my favorite parts of the job. In addition to my coaching services, I also help actors master the art of finding appropriate and powerful audition material.

Teaching was part of my cirriculum for both my graduate and undergraduates degrees. I fell in love with teaching because I love helping artists achieve their goals, inspire a love for theatre and music, and cultivate confidence in their work.

The first part of my process, when I take on a new student, is to simply talk to them. I take great pride in getting to know my students because our lessons are personal and intimate. Teaching requires trust, on both sides, and I intend to cultivate that trust from the very beginning.
Getting to know my students is also instrumental in helping me pick appropriate material for them.
After introductions, we usually work on the material in depth. We review the material from dramaturgical, analytical, and emotional perspectives. When adequate progess has been made, we will continue to learn and work on other material.
I have worked with students from age 5-50. However the bulk of my students are typically between 18-25.
If you have a child interested in lessons, please reach out and we will determine if it's a good fit.
Look at the experience of your teacher. In the arts, real-life experience can often be just as or sometimes more beneficial than educational experience alone.
Also, look for a teacher who will be honest with you. Honesty is incredibly important in the arts. Yes, you need someone who will be supportive of your needs, but you also need someone who will be constructive.
