About William
I am a devoted and caring teacher who will help you overcome your fears, delve deep into your art and your characters, and break through boundaries and taboos. Filmmaking and acting are my blood. I trained for five years at two of the most renowned acting schools in the world, I am a member of the AEA actors union and have experience on the largest Hollywood sets observing my grandfather. I've produced and directed my own independent films including a feature film, played Shakespearian lead roles in respected theatres, and have acted in a handful of feature films. I started tutoring other actors five years ago, as a coach I will come assist you with a blast of enthusiasm, detail, and encouragement.
My favorite parts of coaching are helping students make breakthroughs in their art and seeing how that changes their personal life and personal struggles. If you are a passionate person and struggling with doubt or criticism I can be of great help to you. On the other side, if you are a veteran performer or writer and feel you are not reaching your full potential, I will be able to identify that full potential and jumpstart your creative engine with a technical approach.
Shortly after high school I was hired as a teacher for a professional theatre in Los Angeles that has a large arts education program for kids and teens. It was also around that time that I began directing my own short movies and tutoring other actors.
I grew up on movie sets and first worked on a film crew when I was 16. I spent five years studying with the prestigous acting coach Ivana Chubbuck in Los Angeles, and for three of those years I was also studying at The Actors Studio under Martin Landau. I have worked consistently in film and theater, and I am a member of Actors Equity Association.

First I'll set up a call so we can get to know each other better to give me an idea what you are looking to accomplish. If you are seeking to learn or grow acting craft I will guide you through learning foundational acting techniques and tools that I myself was once a beginner in but learned and mastered on film sets and large stages in Los Angeles. If you already have a part that is booked or are if you are a writer/director in story development currently, we can go straight to focusing on exploring and deepening the material you have, examples would be an audition you got or a short film you are writing. Regardless of if you are a novice or a veteran, one goal of our work will be to film footage of you doing scenes we work on together so you can either use it to help get auditions or get assistance you need with filming a short film.
All ages. Children as young as five, many teenagers and young adults, and adults. I have worked with people who are looking to come out of their shell for public speaking purposes, and I have worked with professional actors, writers, and editors to craft performances and stories.
Work with someone who inspires you, challenges you, listens to you, and brings you a perspective that you haven't considered.
Honestly seeing the progress made by one of my coaching students this year has been very fulfilling and inspiring, when I started coaching just like anyone else I knew I had a skill and training but wasn't sure if it would all "come together", but it has and for that I am grateful.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
"Why do I want to work with a teacher?" Can be simple or detailed answer. This will help you get what you want out of your training. In fact, write a journal entry on it, that will help.

Perfect! I have been taking lessons with Will multiple times a week for the past 5 months and it has easily become the highlight of my week. As a novice to acting, I came in worried about how things would go. However, Will's ability to break things down in an understandable way immediately put me at ease. I learn something new in each session and am always excited to apply it the next session. Will's authentic enthusiasm for me as a student has pushed me to limits where I did not think both in and outside of our sessions. I cannot recommend him enough!

I liked his hard work and ability to keep on going. The work he puts in his craft and the ease of working with him.
Holbrook will scare you into not only becoming a better actor, but an overall better human. He challenges you, he holds up a mirror for you to fall into, and he won’t give up on you because that’s not in his nature.
Took classes with Will at the same school for a couple years. Watched him work over dozens of weeks on many different scenes—seeing him perform on stage and on film outside of class. But mostly I observed him within the intimate context of a class and at home rehearsals. His energy is infectious. Will is a dynamic performer. He can meet people at a lot of different levels. He works well with just about everyone. Though always professional and kind, there is a child inside Will’s heart that seems always ready for the appropriate situation.
