About Gary
Fast Track Flight Training :Airport ID KDKX, located at 2701 Spence Pl Knoxville Tn 37920.
At Fast Track Flight Training we can work with you to become a Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot. If you would like to become a Certified Flight Instrctor, and or a Certified Flight Instructor Instrument we can help with that also. At Fast Track we like to keep our student roster small , therefore the student will receive more personalized one on one instruction.
Rusty Pilot. We understand sometimes after getting your license life gets in the way and you get rusty. Our instructors are patient and can work with you to learn the new technology that is now available that may not have been around the last time you flew. We can get your flying skills back to where they should be to make you a safe pilot again.
Mountain Flying. We offer mountain flight training for the pilot who will be navigating the mountains.
Upset Recovery and Basic Aerobatics are also taught at our school, including but not limited to loops, rolls, falling leaf, wing overs ,hammerhead stalls, half and full cuban 8s, and spin recovery. On the last aerobatic flight the plane will be inverted from a left and right roll several times and you will be able to safely recover. With this training you will be a more confident , and competent pilot. Aerobatics are rarely taught at flight schools primarily because either the school does not have access to a aerobatic plane, and or the instructors have never done any aerobatic flying other than recovering from a few spins.
With our Instrument training you will not be limited to flying on pretty days, within reason if the weather is IMC then you will be flying in actual clouds that day. (We strive to have our instrument students fly in actual IMC).
You are not just another student to us, we understand that you are working on your dream and we take that very seriously.

As a flight instructor not only is it fun to fly, but it is very rewarding.
It is a awesome day when you see your student fly solo for their first time, and the day they received their license.
to me it means I took someone that could not fly ,now they are a licensed pilot and I was a big part of it. How can it get any better than that !
Gary Sumner , the Chief Flight Instructor has been a licensed pilot since 1989 with thousands of hours under his belt, flying in most states in the United States from rural to some of the busiest airports .He is a: Commercial pilot

Keep in mind that learning to fly is a lot of work , but worth every minute of it.
For the best results;
have the mindset that once you start you will follow it thru until you get your license.
have the money set aside to take your training before you start
study aviation material (especially subjects that your instructor has asked you to study) at home on your own every chance you get.
If at all possible once you start training fly consistently. I would recommend at least two times a week. You will finish much faster this way and save money
I was working with a rusty pilot that had not flown in about 20 years. Most of the time when we flew in any type of turbulance he would get very nervous to the point that it adversely affected his flying skills. I encouraged him to take the upset recovery training. After finishing the training he made the comment " I never thought I would say this but I actually look forward to flying in some turbulence " . From that moment on flying in moderate turbulance did not make him nervous, therefore his flying skills were much better. A very proud day for me as a instructor.
