About YVONNE
Hello!
My name is Yvonne. I am a current grad student at UTA focusing on Material Science & Engineering (MSc).
My previous degree is in Chemistry (BSc)
Being a tutor for 2 years at Midwestern State University has truly taught me how to fine tune the art of being patient, tactful and resourceful. For most, tutoring may seem like a one way street where the tutor imparts his/her knowledge onto an eager student, but for me, it is also plays a part in keeping a lot of concepts (be in it math or chemistry) fresh in my mind.
With that said, I am excited to help students to reach their goals and boost their confidence especially in the science field which can sometimes be daunting
I have taken college math: algebra, trigonometry, calculus
I have taken all college level chemistry courses from organic chemistry , analytical chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry.
However I would like to focus my attention on general chemistry and/or analytical chemistry
Currently Msc in Materials Engineering at UT-Arlington
Bsc in Chemistry and minor in Math at Midwestern State University.
I had a short teaching position at a high school in Tyler Tx during 2016.
I tutored during my time at MSU in the chemistry department and the student TRIO center (3yrs).

I love starting with an ice-breaker activity. Then moving in to introductions and getting a sense of what exactly the student is struggling with. We will then go through foundational concepts.
I have worked with High School Students as well as College students from my MSU.
