For the past 2 years I have taken dance lesson from Marina, both group and private. Marina is an excellent and caring instructor. She has taken someone with zero experience (not counting the 'hokey-pokey' at my cousin's wedding in 2001) and patiently taught me. She not only stressed the fundamentals, she introduced 'muscle memory' exercises and developed steps I was learning into dance routines I could immediately use with confidence in my social dancing. I will miss her.

I recommend Marine because developing coordination can be very intimidating for a new dancer but she is always very positive. She is an exceptional dancer who can teach experienced dancers too.

Marina is willing to help anyone learn to dance and put in the time and energy to help them improve. I was very new to dancing when I first met her, but with much patience and practice she helped me grow into a much better dancer -- from very uncomfortable on the dance floor to someone who can ask anyone to dance, in multiple types of social-dancing situations, without hardly any problem.

Her passion for dancing is obvious, and she will move you fast enough through lessons to get you ready for social dancing situations, but slow enough so as not leave anyone behind.

She is also a genuinely good and inclusive person, and leaves no one out. She is everyone's friend. I am truly grateful for the time I spent taking lessons from Marina (about 2 years) and am very grateful for her friendship. 100 percent recommend her to anyone learning the basics of dancing.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try learning something new. We had attempted to dance at a friend's wedding before, and it didn't go well. We danced like we were at a middle school dance. My uncle was already taking dance lessons with Marina and recommended her to us. We were pretty nervous about trying something new, but Marina made us feel at ease right away. We learned many different Smooth and Latin dance styles from Marina and not only did she make it fun, she was also incredible at all of them! She also has a way of explaining technique that really makes you get a picture of what you should be doing. I would highly recommend working with Marina for all of your dance needs.

In five years of dancing, Marina was one of eight different ballroom dance instructors I have had, and is far and away my favorite and longest-term teacher. Watching her dance a waltz, a rumba, a salsa, a samba, or a foxtrot during a showcase, or a Ukrainian folk dance during an ethnic festival is a wonder.

Marina is a good teacher! She is patient and helped me adapt some moves to accommodate my limited mobility.

I've been taking private and group lessons with Marina since March 2016. Before I took my first lesson I'd never danced a step in my life, not even the high school prom shuffle. I saw her perform and thought "I want to do that". A little over two years later, I'm very competent in at least 10 different ballroom dances socially and competitively.

One thing I appreciate a lot about Marina is she's very down to earth, and keeps the process fun, even if it's intense at times. I've always looked forward to lessons and classes she has taught, and never felt anxious about making mistakes or the learning process (and I tend towards anxiety in general).

Marina is a great balance of incredibly patient, but also pushing me beyond what I think I can achieve to make me a better, more confident dancer. She has a very good sense of her students and their goals. I'm someone who wants to push myself as hard as possible and be the best I can be at whatever I'm doing, so she pushes me hard and the results show. She also works great with students who just want to dance for fun, and don't have competitive goals like I do.

Her process is incredibly accessible even if you've never danced. She'll get you on the floor moving and learning different moves in your first lessons, and then as you progress she'll build technique into what you know as you're ready for it, versus overwhelming you with too much technique early on and intimidating you away from your dance.

When she does get into technique, she's great at teaching you how to have really nice clean and dramatic arm styling, as well as appropriate rhythm and smooth action to make each dance look like it's supposed to.

Thanks to Marina I've become a much better dancer than I ever expected to be and have come to really love it.
