About Ashley
Hello!
I am an experienced writing educator and tutor with more than 10 years of experience working with students in grades 3 - 12. I have a B.A. in English from The Ohio State University, and I am completing my Master's degree in English Literature from Harvard University.
I love working with all types of students, and I find it especially rewarding to connect with students who are struggling in school or who may have ADHD.
I love the bond I form with each individual student! The students I work with have such a variety of personalities and senses of humor, and I always enjoy laughing with them. It is incredibly rewarding to feel as if I made a small impact on a student's academic performance. And I celebrate whenever a student completes a big assignment that they had been dreading, and they look proud and relieved.
I will also mention that I genuinely love learning, and I have learned so much through tutoring. I consider myself a perpetual student, so this is the perfect job for me!

When I meet with a student for the first time, I listen to them and ask questions, understanding their learning style, their strengths, what they find challenging, and what they find interesting or boring. I work with them on an assignment or project, and by the end of the session, I check with them to see if they found the session to be beneficial.
While it is important to make headway on completing an assignment or writing a project, what I am most interested in is learning how I can best work together with the student to help bring them up to reach their potential.
