About Kathryn
I am a certified 5-8th grade English teaching in the state of Massachusetts. I am a graduate of a pretigious teacher training program (New Teachers Collaborative) and taught 7th grade English last year. This year, I have been working as a tutor and nanny to 4 and 6 years old.
I am currently out of work due to the pandemic, and am looking for ways to continue teaching and helping students during this challenging time.
I am also SEI (sheltered english immersion) certified, and love working with ESL students.
I first began tutoring 7th graders in high school. Throughout college I spent my summers as the Outdoor Education director at a summer camp. After college, I worked for the National Outdoor Leadership School, and then moved on to become a classroom teacher.
I am a certified 5-8th grade English teacher in the state of Massachusetts, I have taught at a charter school and tutored at a public school, I am SEI (sheltered english immersion) certified, and currently teach an ESL class to homeless women.

I first love to get to know students and their unique way of learning, their interests, and what ignites them. I will spend time at the beginning getting to know them as individuals and then take time to develop curriculum that uniquely addresses their needs as a student.
I have worked with students of all backgrounds and abilities. I especially love working with recent immigrants and those learning the English language.
