About Jenni
I am currently an academic dean at a local independent school. I have my bachelor's degree in middle school education and a master's degree in special education with a focus in adolescent ADHD, as well as a master's degree in independent school leadership. I love teaching and have been doing it for 10 years! Just here looking to help more students and their families.

I sit down with them (and their guardians when appropriate) and talk about what their goals for utilizing tutoring services are. I think it is important to start out with really clear mutual expectations for the partnership, communication, and how work time will go. I ask the student when they have felt most and least successful in school and why they think particular things have been successful or challenging. Then I move on to how I like to work - using the assignments and resources they already get from school to build up their habits, routines, skills, and concept mastery. I think executive functioning and stron student habits are the gateway to lifelong learning!
