I am a medical graduate from Peru. After I finished medical school I wanted to do my post-graduate studies in the United States. In order to do that I needed to read, listen and speak English as good as I could. I did not want to go to traditional English institutes because I needed all the time I had to study for the exams. One day I decided to try EFS online course. I think this was one of the best choices I have ever done in my life.
At the beginning I thought I just needed some help but then I realized that the way I was taught English is not the way it is supposed to be. After a couple of months of classes my pronunciation improved a lot. I did not realize how much I improved until I was doing some observerships at US hospitals. All the residents, attendings and even the patients told me that they barely noticed my accent.
EFS also helped me with my preparation for the USMLE step 2 CS. Boy they did their job! I scored high performance at Communication and Interpersonal Skills (CIS) and Spoken English Proficiency (SEP) subcomponents.

Soy un medico graduado de Peru. Después de terminar la escuela de medicina en Peru, yo quería hacer mis estudios de post-grado en los Estados Unidos. Para lograrlo, yo necesitaba leer, escuchar y hablar ingles lo mejor que podia. Yo no quería ir a los institutos de ingles debido a que necesitaba todo el tiempo posible para estudiar para mis exámenes. Un día decidí intentar el curso en linea de EFS. Creo que fue una de las mejores decisiones que he hecho en mi vida.

Al principio, yo pensaba que solo necesitaba un poco de ayuda, pero después me di cuenta que la manera en la cual me habían enseñado ingles no era la adecuada. Después de un par de meses de clases mi pronunciación mejoro bastante. No me había dado cuenta cuanto hasta que estaba haciendo mis rotaciones de medicina en los hospital de Estados Unidos. Todos los residentes, doctores e incluso los pacientes me decían que no notaban mi acento.

EFS también me ayudo con mi preparación para el USMLE Step 2 CS. Vaya que si hicieron su trabajo! Me calificaron con el mas alto puntaje en la categoría de Comunicación y Habilidades Interpersonales (CIS) y Suficiencia para hablar ingles (SEP).

I was EFS’s student for years. For me, I consider that it was a chance for more education not only language classes, but about science, health and history etc., - all in a friendly environment and very interesting topics. If I had a chance today I would have these classes again as education never ends!
