About Julie

I love to edit and proofread! As a former High School English teacher, I miss the students and their creativity and passion for writing. I want to assist with your skills by proofreading what you write, suggesting edits and clarifications, and asking questions of you and your goals!

I'd love to help you with writing essays, cover letters, resumes, research papers, or other assignments. Let me help you succeed!

I have a double Bachelor's degree in English and Communication from the University of South Dakota.  I taught GED classes, remediation classes, regular English/Language Arts grades 7 - 12, and AP English Composition

Currently, I am a Corporate Recruiter and frequently see resumes that don't get the job because of mistakes and formatting issues.  It is important to have good writing skills no matter what business or industry you are in!

Getting to know the student first and what their goals are - what they hope to gain from a tutor.

Make sure there is respect and rapport from both sides.  It will not work if there is not a mutual agreement of what expectations are.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Know what you are expecting to accomplish or fulfill by hiring a tutor.  If you want someone to "do the work" for you, don't choose me.  If you want someone to "push, prod, and celebrate" your successes - I'm your teacher!!
