About Steph
I have a proven track record of helping students improve their writing to meet their goals because I focus on strategic learning as well as content tutoring? What do you want to achieve? I can help you pass the reading or writing SOL, prepare for the SAT, polish your college admissions essay, or finish your first novel. No matter how impossible your goal feels, we can make a plan to get there!
I love helping students level up their writing skills. It's always rewarding to see a student master something that previously felt out of reach.
I've been an English teacher in Chesterfield County since 2014, where I've worked with all levels of high school students (every grade, every ability level) and currently teach dual enrollment classes through John Tyler Community College. My passion is working with struggling writers, especially students with disabilities or mental health struggles.
I hold two Master's degrees: one in Education and the other in creative writing.

I ask new students to bring a recent piece of writing that they are proud of to our first session. This allows us to set a baseline, discuss student strengths and areas for growth. It is also very important for me to discuss and set goals with students so that our time together is productive.
