About Josha
I am a patient and dedicated tutor who is willing and ready to help you achieve your academic goals. As a former teacher and recent master's graduate, I am well versed in the academic sector and have a lot of experience with students of various ages.
I got started teaching years ago when I realized that I had a knack for helping students. My psychology background gave me the skills to administer several techniques that can be used to achieve understanding and academic excellence in several subjects.
I am a recent Industrial-Organizational Psychology master's graduate with a certification in counseling. I have tutored for English writing courses. I was previously a health education teacher for middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Typically with my students, I will begin by assessing what they believe their difficulties are in the subject. Then I will analyze their current work so I can get a sense of what they have trouble with. Then I will go over with my students the problems that I see as well as how we can work on creating a better understanding of the subject.
I have worked with children ages 5 to 12. I have worked with teenagers ages 13 to 19 ( that includes troubled students and incarcerated students). I have also worked with college students ages 17 to 23.
My best advice to other students looking for teachers is to find someone who is dedicated to your success. Some of the best teachers I have had worked just as hard as I did to help me succeed and they let me know through their actions that they cared about me and the kind of education I was receiving.
An event that I was most fond of when teaching was when I got to teach health education to teenagers who were incarcerated. I knew that when I left that I was making a difference in their lives and I loved teaching there.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions students could ask should be based on the teacher's expertise. How long has the person been teaching, have they taught anyone your age or how long has it been since they taught a person your age? Most importantly are they able to tackle the various nuances and troubles that you have with the subject you are currently getting tutored for.
