About Christopher
I have worked as a Elemetary K-5 school teacher in Bergen county for the past seven years. Most recently, I have focused on academic intervention in ELA and Math. In my postion, I am forced to work one on one with a small group of students. Building a strong raport with students, now more than ever, is essential to ensure educational success in the classroom.
I enjoy interacting one on one with my students and providing them with the tools and encourangement to succeed. Positive reinforcement is very important for students--especially in early development. Students must know that they CAN and WILL succeed if they work diligently and maintain a positive mindset.
I graduated from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia in 2007. In 2009, I attended Bloomfield College and obtained my Elementary Certification. For three summers, I worked as a camp counselor and teacher at various summer camps where I was involved with Physical Education activities as well as academic instruction. For the past 7 years, I have worked as a classroom teacher as well as an academic interventionist for Math and ELA for grades K-5.Ele

My typical process for working with a new student is to first determine their particular strengths and weaknesses. The goal is to give positive reinforcement and provide them with the necessary skills needed to become a well-rounded student.
I have worked with both general education students as well as students with special needs (IEPs).

Chris is an absolute gentleman with truly patience of a saint!! Academically, he has brought both my children up 2 levels in reading and 1 level in math in a very short time. Chris has the ability to break problems down until he sure each child has completely comprehended the matter at hand. Personally, I would love to have him homeschool them. One more amazing quality is when he sees they need a break, he takes them outside for exercise and games. My kids adore him and we have seen an enormous change in their attitudes toward learning!!
