About Kimani

I am a recent college graduate from Smith College where I majored in French Studies and Sociology. I am an avid reader and will begin my teaching career this upcoming fall. I have tutored countless children throughout my time at college and in high school. I am also a volleyball player and have been coaching since I was 17. I hope to help you and your child learn to love reading as much as I do or to help you all gain the proficiency and confidence you wish when it comes to French and English.

I began teaching through volleyball. When I began playing and coaching volleyball, I was able to learn more about myself and thus learned how to teach other the sport as well. The same rules apply to teaching an academic subject as well.

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College in French Studies and Sociology. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Teaching License in the state of Massachusetts.

About the lesson

I look to get to know the student first: their interests, hobbies, how they work best, etc. My goal is not to teach them how to work but to find ways in which I can shape myself into someone that can be of assistance. I like to start every session with getting to know my students well.

I've worked with ages 5-20.
