About April
I choose to take a compassionate, encouraging approach to learning that focuses on removing the mental blocks of anxiety and fear of failure. I find that the majority of my students learn best in an understanding environment that affirms their individual way of viewing the world while sparking their courage to be naturally curious.
My favorite part of tutoring is getting to know the students. I tell all of my students that they all have a story to tell, and their story is worth telling well. They are worth being represented well through their work. I enjoy revealing to students that learning and expressing does not have to be drudgery, and that shame and anxiety are often the culprits that tell us this.
