About Bill

I like to teach by showing you how to hit the ball. I will demonstrate techniques to hit cut shots (fade shots). Knock down shots, punch shots, bump and runs, trundle shots, chip shots, and Monster Drives. You will learn how to set up for the coveted draw shot. During the lesson we will focus on getting more power out of your fades with the Driver and woods. The set up I teach will hold up through 18 holes or 36 holes (if you're like me - 18 just isn't enough!). I'll help you improve your iron play. We will work on hitting the ball curving to left and curving to the right on command. I can drive the ball 300+ yards. I'll teach you to hit the ball long and straight too!

I take great pride in that magical moment when all the instruction "clicks" for the player. When they start striping drives down range with the intended ball flight. You will be amazed at how easy golf can be if you trust me with this life changing event. Feel free to text me any questions you might have.

I like to play competitive golf. I've won Tournaments and lots of skin money. I get invited to play in scrambles and group events quite often. I play in Men's clubs. I like the pressure of hitting difficult shots. When it comes to golf advice, I explain the cause and effect. Ultimately, I will hit the shot that you want to hit. What one person can do, another person can do. My goal is to teach concepts that improve consistency. I teach a set up that will produce a dependable repeating golf swing. From there we start to focus on course management, strategy off the tee, fairway strategy, various pitching techniques, chipping techniques and putting. Do you like to trundle? I do! I also consider myself a player who observes impeccable green side etiquette. I will instill green side etiquette that will save you from some unintended sideways glances and eyerolls. These unwritten rules include: How to mark your ball correctly, where to stand while others are putting, even where to walk on the green as to not disturb your playing partners line to the hole, a big no no for advanced players.

How did I get into teaching? I've been playing golf for 27+ years. Many times players in my group and clubs will ask for advice. After years of positive feedback it comes quite naturally for me. I continue to teach the next generation the modern golf swing simply and effectively. I also advise on golf equipment. Clubs, Balls, Club length & grips.

I am a Member of the NRPGI - National Registry of Professional Golf Instructors

I maintain a players handicap of 5.

I have given lessons to more than 75 students of all skill levels. From 6 year old kids, to 80 year old shot makers.

I have helped many new golfers get off to a good start by having proper set up, correct grip, and ball placement. (In my opinion 99% of swing problems are grip or set up related). I have taught the same lessons found in many of golf's top instructional books:

It's like this. I play golf 3-4 rounds a week. I am constantly practicing. I hit fades and draws every round. I have applied many of the techniques and lessons from these books along with instruction practices recommended by many of golf's current top professionals to become the shot maker I am today. If you are wondering why you can't hit the ball with control. You need to come see me. I am confident once I share my knowledge and wisdom with you, you can manage your game around any course you choose. I also encourage students to seek the right flex and swing weight for their driver. This takes time and patience for them and for me.

About the lesson

I like to first listen to the student's concerns. We go through the set up and grip. I'll give you check points to help you set up to the ball correctly. Honestly, most students just want to hit the ball further with the driver. We can and will do that!

I like to start at the hole and work our way back. Pitching, chipping and putting drills. Then we hit the range and work on Iron shots. The middle part of the lesson we work on shaping long irons, woods, and hybrids. By the time we get to the driver, most swing concerns have been taken care of. At the end of our session, we can focus on shaping shots with virtually any club in the bag.

I have taught many students from the weekend golfer who want's to break 90 or even break 80 for the first time. To the beginning golfer who are just starting their journey. I can assist with your next club fitting too.

Helping an advanced player figure out "what's wrong" usually takes 30 minutes. We make a few adjustments, work on Tempo and practice shaping shots at the target. I enjoy putting in work with students to shape different shots on the range and practice green. This is where repetition, experimentation, and muscle memory will have the greatest effect. When was the last time you chipped onto the green with an 8 iron instead of a wedge?

If you want to see how to hit the ball. I will hit the shots you want to learn. I believe demonstrating techniques helps a student learn faster. I have had quite a few students come to me after taking a number of lessons from other instructors with no improvement. I can see that they have ingrained bad habits. My goal is to help you stay focused and relaxed during the lessons. You can do this! I design my lessons to give you the tools to go play a round of golf with confidence and power. My favorite event is life itself. I recently taught a brand new golfer who was struggling and couldn"t break 100. After a couple sessions. He played 2 rounds with the new adjustments and reported back to me shot 89!. Many rounds later he is reporting rounds in the low 80's.

I worked with a new a student Jake, 5' 6" tall, in his 40's. He confided in me that he has never taken a lesson. He said he was hitting his driver about 220 - 240 yards. He was using an interlocking grip. He said he liked his grip. However, he was losing a noticeable amount of leverage. I suggested we try the Vardon, or overlapping grip. After going through his wedges, short irons, mid irons up to 5 iron. It was time to hit the woods. After a few successful 3 wood and hybrid shots. I pulled his driver and handed it over. He stepped up without hesitation, Crack! His first drive sailed all the way down the range. 260 + ...The look on this mans face said it all. He was awestruck. He couldn't wait to take his new found power to the course. Keep up the great work Jake!

More Recently I taught Issac from Mexico City. This 19 year old kid LOVES golf. He plays 18 holes, before he plays 18 holes. (My kinda guy) however he had the classic, what I call the "Slugger Stance". (Feet spread really wide like we do in Baseball). Wider than his shoulders. This set up was producing a high cut, then a very bad pull hook. He was all over the place. So, I had him get his feet under his shoulders, and adjusted his grip slightly. By the end on the session. He was striping the ball with draw and fade on command. He was killing it. 280+. He hugged me before we said good bye. He went back to Mexico to take on the guys in his club brimming with confidence. It was the most fun I've had teaching in while. He could not stop smiling. Quite frankly neither could I.

Do I need to update my equipment?

What's the difference between a neutral grip, a strong grip, or a weak grip? What do these adjustments really mean?

What degree of loft should my sand and attack wedges have?

What ball compression is best for my swing speed?

Do my clubs fit my swing posture?

How do I read the grain on the greens?

What is the best way to grip the club? Interlock, overlap, or reverse overlap?

How fast is my swing speed?

Are my clubs the right length for my height? Is the lie angle correct?

What is the best way to warm up before a round of golf?

I am now the best golfer amongst my friend group due to Bill! I was about a 30-32 handicap before working with Bill and now I am consistently hitting 18-22 over par. Do not hesitate to call Bill and set up a golf lesson. The only thing I regret is not taking lessons sooner!

I’ve played golf for about 20 years and never had a lesson. It’s safe to assume I’ve picked up some bad habits along the way. I was around a 10 handicap a year ago but in the last six months my game has gone down hill fast as I posted scores in the 90s. I came to the conclusion that I needed some instructions from someone other than my golf buddies. I talked it over with my wife and she helped me find Bill. We met this week for my first lesson and I can tell you I instantly knew that Bill is all about his students. I got there early and Bill was already on the range waiting for me. He asked about my golf history and the troubles I was having, also what I’m looking to gain from lessons, and then we got to work. He was very attentive and patient. I couldn’t help but notice how excited he would get when I would hit a good ball. It really shows that he teaches for the enjoyment of the game and to help others enjoy it as much as he does. After leaving my first lesson I felt confident and took the lesson to the course. I shot a 79. Ive been horrible at getting off the tee recently but my first round after our lesson I didn’t lose a single ball. Bill I appreciate your time and effort and look forward to our next lesson.
