About Russell
I have a master's in English Composition, and I view music as another language--with its own grammar, vocabulary, and great works. I've taught and developed curriculum for the last 10 years, and I've been playing guitar regularly since 2003.
Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or high-intermediate player, I can work with you to develop in a variety of styles (blues, rock, country, jazz, indie, lowfi/hip-hop, R&B, and soul). We can practice the fundamentals, we can work on interpreting lead sheets and rhythm parts in tablature and/or treble clef, or we can talk about how to find your place in a band setting. Acoustic and electric lessons available.
I started teaching as a graduate student at SFASU.
