About Paul
I not only teach students how to play songs but show them effective techniques to make their pracitcing efficient so they can learn skills, build a knowledge base, create a repertoire, and provide opportuities to develop their musical creativity.
I love helping music travelers along their journey of self discovery. Students, no matter the age, learn better when they are encouraged to uncover uses for skills and knowledge they have been taught. I enjoy making each student's lesson unique to them and their interests. I create indiviualized material (songs, exercises, etc.) specifically for their skill and repertoire building needs.
My education and training comes from my diverse experiences from performing for and learning from: Universities, The United States Army Band Field, highly respected and successful guitarists (James Chirillo of Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra directed by Wynton Marsalis, Dave Newsam of UNH and Berkley College of Music, and 1st Sergeant Robert Rucker of the Jazz Ambassadors), and participating in and attending many guitar clinics and workshops.
I am skillful at planning, preparing, and overseeing performances. I work with students to not only prepare for performances, but to help them develop self-regulation and deliberate practice skills that enable them to become independent learners.
I arrange and compose music for both guitar ensembles and solo guitar, so that specific skills are addressed and applied as they are learned.
I am skilled at performing in ensembles such as, Jazz and Stage bands, Rock, Country, and Jazz combos or groups, and as a solo guitarist.
In addition to performing and educating, I am experienced with the music notation program Finale, and am competent working with Cubase and Pro-Tools recording software which I use for composing, as well as, creating music for skill development and knowledge.

The first step with working with a new student is to inventory their playing (chords, scales, songs, ect.).
Once I have a good picture as to their skill level, I find out what their goals are (professional, semi-professional, camp fire playing, personal enjoyment).
Based on our discussion, I get the student playing asap with chords and strumming suitible to their ability.

Paul is an amazing guitar teacher! My 13 years old son absolutely adore him! Actually , I am surprised because my son now loves to practice and can’t wait for a new lesson with Paul. Paul is teaching my son from July 2020, and my boy already playing many song. I can’t believe it because in a so short time , my son learns how to play guitar and now he is able to play guitar and sing his favorite songs.

Details
Half hour lessons will be 25.00 per lesson (pre-pay) or 30.00 per lesson pay as you go.
Paypal or Venmo
Payment is due the last lesson day of the month for the next month. For example, today is the last Tuesday in June; payment for July would be due today.
Today you will be paying for July 7 – 28. (25.00 x 4 = 100.00 for July)
Some months will have 5 weeks others will have 4. Multiply your lesson rate by the number of lessons to get your total.
You will be sent a Zoom meeting link for your lesson time.
24 hour notice is required for cancellations in order to reschedule.
All rescheduled lessons must be made-up in that month.
There are no make-ups for make-ups.

If I have to cancel a lesson, you will be credited for the lesson or we’ll agree on a make-up day and time.
Technical or power issues: Online lessons will be made up in the event of power or technical issues.
I offer make-up times in leu of refunds.
