George Gecik is a phenomenal teacher! George has a wonderful connection with his students and is versatile in many instruments. He has taught my 13 year old son guitar for the past 3 years and he is playing at a professional level. My son learned quickly and grew a love and appreciation for music because of George. This teacher is possibly one of the best teachers for Classical guitar and many other guitar styles which makes him a great teacher for any type of student.
George’s approach was obviously correct as 45+ years later I am still playing !! I also still have a guitar I bought through him. I’m sure that his teaching techniques have changed throughout the years because I really don’t know if “Leaving on a jet plane” is one of the songs his current students would want to learn. :) I also know that one of his other students spent some time rocking on the Sunset strip in Hollywood.
I used many of his techniques when giving lessons during my teaching days. He gave me a great foundation to play different genres with many groups over the years. Thanks for education!!Really focuses on the fundamentals while having a good feel for different styles to build on. Great feel for the blues.
My daughter has been taking lessons with “Mr. George” for two years. We tried gymnastics, soccer, cross country etc. and all I heard were complaints from her. She doesn’t complain about going each week to see “Mr. George”. He makes learning guitar fun and that’s the beauty of his teaching style. Now, she does complain about having to practice each day, BUT not everything can be perfect. We’re big fans and in fact I just signed up today for four more months of lessons. He’s a winner when it comes to working with younger kids.
George is a master teacher. He builds an environment where the student is comfortable and feels confident in learning a new skill. He is able to adjust his strategies to the needs of his students. I’m an adult who always wanted to learn to play guitar and feel fortunate to have found him. I would highly recommend him to anyone one that wants to learn to play the guitar.
Unlimited patience. Sincere kindness. Those are two prominent characteristics that define George’s style of teaching music to beginners. Learning to play a new instrument is very exciting, but there are times when any budding musician has moments of self-doubt or frustration. George has a special talent for figuring out how to gently and expertly help his students overcome those moments and improve to the next level. George showed me how incredibly rewarding it is to persevere and become a true musician. He instilled in me the joy of playing guitar, and it’s something that forever changed my life for the better. You’ll truly love having George be your teacher, mentor, cheerleader and friend.
Flexible scheduling, let me learn songs that interested me, genuine care for his students. I’m very thankful he made me learn the fingerboard with his method which made it much easier to play any song
Very patient! Yet pushes just enough to keep me motivated but not frustrated.
George is a patient and kind teacher who helps his students learn at their own pace. He is an outstanding instructor.
George Gecik was our daughter's first and only guitar teacher for several years! George can read his students well which is crucial, to know what’ the student really wants from the lessons . He starts at the student’s pace and advances as the student progresses. George does not apply pressure! He makes the lessons fun and makes friends with his students! Music is not meant to be work, but an enjoyable journey! George does not apply pressure but grows with the student and together they learn from each other. Today 40 yrs. later, our daughter has purchased several different guitars employing different kinds of music taught by George! I don’t think our daughter thought at the time, 9 yrs. old , that the practicing would some day bring her a lifetime of enjoyment of playing with friends as they too bring their instruments for get-to-gethers and fun times! She can never say that ‘she wished she would have learned to play an instrument when she was young’, because she did, and so much of her thanks and ours’, go to George Gecik. He lives the music he teaches and loves!
An excellent teacher who connects well with young students.
George is an excellent guitar teacher! He taught guitar at my music store for many years. All of his students excelled quickly, and enjoyed working with him!
George was excellent with my daughter. Her love of music and guitar grew stronger while she took lessons with him. His love of younger students is obvious. He explains things well and encourages his students.
As an (older) adult student that wished he would have found the time many years ago to learn guitar I very much appreciated George’s ability to understand what I was looking for in professional guidance. He allowed me the freedom to structure my lessons based on my preferences and ability while at the same time never giving in to letting me believe I was progressing when I wasn’t (no smoke up you-know-where). Bottom line: you can get better as fast as your commitment and practice will take you under George’s tutilage,
George taught my nieces ukulele. They loved their lessons and learned so much! He is a kind and gentle teacher and very talented musician. I highly recommend him for people if all ages.
Mr GECIK finds creative and compelling ways to relate to my son and help him experience the joy of music! I highly recommend!
From a parent's perspective: George has a tremendous amount of knowledge of, and experience with, all things guitar. He has consistently challenged my son in technique and performance and even met us at a guitar store when it came time to purchase a new instrument. He combines an easy going demeanor with humor and great talent to encourage and help his students learn to play well. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn to play guitar.
Mr Gecik is great! He makes it fun, and customized the lessons for my son. I highly recommend him.
George is very patient and organized. Very insightful in analyzing technique problems. He also tailors the lessons to the student's interest and doesn't teach by the cookie cutter method of every student is the same.
George is an excellent teacher! He is very experienced, knowledgeable, patient, and just a great guy. I have taken lessons from him for a few years now, and appreciate how he has tailored my lessons and the music we work on to my own interests and taste in music. I highly recommend him both for children and adults!
George has a great music vocabulary, can play and teach all styles of music, and has great passion for the instrument. He will guide you along in a friendly and receptive matter, and has a great sense of humor. You wont go wrong hiring George!
George is very knowledgeable and patient with young musicians. He was very helpful and accommodating when a scheduling issue came up with the office.
