About Angelique

I have been a nanny/babysitter for 10+ years, which usually comes with homework help! I love working with children of all ages, but my most recent experience is with elementary schoolers. I have the most experience with math, including Eureka Math. I can also help with reading, writing, and some science. I graduated from Georgia Tech in 2018. Currently, I am in graduate school but have plenty of free time with social distancing in effect. If you need help with your child's homework now that you are all at home, you've come to the right place! I look forward working with you.

I have always loved babysitting/nannying and working with children! As a nanny, I usually make sure the children do their homework but with my most recent family, I was also a tutor. The children needed extra help, so I stepped up and really enjoyed working with them! I loved seeing their progress and celebrating the "light bulb" moments. 



I have a BS from Georgia Tech and am working on my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I do not have formal education training, but I have 10+ years of working with children, including homework help and tutoring.

I like to spend the first few minutes getting to know new students, so I can better relate to them. Most sessions I will have them try to work through the problems on their own before stepping in. I think its important to see what they know and go from there. I usually like to show them an example and explain the process, then have them try a problem with my help, and then have them do a couple on their own and go over their work from there. That way they can learn from their mistakes (if there are any) and also celebrate their progress!



Mostly elementary-aged children. 



I think it is important for the students to enjoy going to tutoring (as much as they can)! So, finding a tutor that you get along with is almost as important as a tutor that is knowledgable (almost - you definitely want to make sure they can help you with your work!). I would encourage you to not give up on tutoring just because your first experience doesn't go well.
