About Taylor
Hello, I’m Taylor Mae! My advanced educational journey began my freshman year of high school when I was selected to attend the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for The Performing Arts and Technology (ARGS) where I focused on Dance Studies and Advanced Math and Science (Yes, I had a “major” in highschool!) In 2016, I graduated from ARGS with a 4.3 GPA, an Advanced Studies Diploma, and a Governor's Seal, while additionally being nominated into the National Youth Center of Medicine. In 2022, I graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Education and Sports Science, with a program focus on Human Performance and Exercise Science, BSE. My major encompassed both Human Performance and Sport Pedagogy, as well as Physical Education/Exercise within the Department of Kinesiology. My minor consisted of Italian Language, however, I'm also proficient in French Language I-IV. Furthermore, I pursued a specialized track in Pre-Medical studies and traveled internationally with healthcare professionals to provide medical care, health education, and accessible treatment to those in need. My educational journey has encompassed a vast range of passions from dancing, writing, and the medical field, and with that has come an extensive math & science background. I’ve previously taught dance, gymnastics, cheer, english, and yoga classes to adolescents, as well as tutored multiple subjects for grades K-12.
As a newcomer to this site, I'm excited about the accessibility of online teaching. I empathize with the frustrations of conventional teaching methodologies and curriculums. Growing up with a mother who was also a teacher, I learned the significance of recognizing each student's individual learning style and that every student's brain is uniquely different. I tailor my teaching to the individual, understanding who they are, what they seek, and their preferred learning methods. I am well-versed in STEM subjects and specialize in advanced math and science. I’d love to help any student struggling in the classroom and provide one-on-one education based solely on their style of learning needs. I can’t wait to meet each one of you and show you the tools that so many brilliant minds have once shown to me.
