About Krishna
I have worked as an actuary (insurance mathematician) as well as a data scientist at various insurance and IT companies. I hold a bachelors in mechanical engineering and masters in actuarial mathematics. I have won awards in math competitions during my high school and bachelor years.
I have also worked as a graduate teaching assistant at university where I lectured on math and statistics. While working full time, I have also tutored high school students on a part-time basis preparing for math section of SAT.
My students have had excellent results in SAT and other math exams. I attribute their success to their sound understanding of math concepts explained to them in a simple and easy to understand process.
I aim to demystify math concepts and make even the hardest problems seem easy to students by breaking them apart into smaller pieces which are easier to understand.
My areas of expertise include Discrete math, Mid-level math, Calculus, Competitive math and SAT math. I also teach computer programming in python and java on a need by need basis.
During my high school days, as I was explaining the difficult concepts in math to my classmates and close friends, I developed a keen sense of fulfillment and wonder. Eventually teaching math has turned into a passionate hobby of mine where I used to take great pleasure in helping my students or friends who needed help with anything related to math. My students have had excellent results in SAT and other math exams. I attribute their success to their sound understanding of math concepts explained to them in a simple and easy to understand process.

I get started by getting to know more about where the student stands in his/her conceptual understanding of the subject and what are his/her goals. I also like to get an idea of any exam the student is preparing for and try to come up with a study plan based on number of days to exam date.
I have worked middle shool, high school and undergraduate college students preparing for various exams like SAT, college math, statistics, calculus, discrete math as well as competitive math.
