About Joshua
My teaching experience began when I was in my high school Calculus class. I would often times find myself assisting my peers with complex math problems. Having the opportunity to work with someone and watch them experience the "Eureka moment" when they solve a problem or understand a concept is extremely rewarding. Teaching is much like a math puzzle; I love the strategies and complexity of it all! I then decided to go to school for Math Education and haven't looked back!
- Worked as a Geometry teacher for 3 years at the Stony Brook school
- Have tutored privately online and in-person
- I am certified for all math content areas from grades 7-12 in New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

It is imperative for the student to first figure out whether his/her tutor is the right fit. I usually diagnose the student's needs, goals, and avaliability. I want to ensure that the student is getting the most out of our meetings, so planning accordingly is of the upmost importance!
I have taught at varying levels, from grades 7-12. I have experience working at Title 1 schools, private and public schools, college preparatory schools, and boarding schools!
Take your time. When looking for a tutor, you want to ensure that you are using your resources wisely. Get to know your tutor to verify that you are finding the right fit!
Unrelated to tutoring, but I have been very committed to weightlifting for the past few years, and recently hit a goal of mine (called a PR in the weighlifting world).
This was a goal of mine for YEARS and it was exherlierating to finally accomplish it!
It gave me some insight as to what some of my students may feel after going through a struggle, making tutoring even more of an awesome job!
