About Alexa

Hi there, I'm Alexa! I graduated cum laude from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a bachelor's degree in marketing. As a recent graduate, I am up to date on curriculum and practices. I have been tutoring high school students for the past three years. I aided them in preparing for the CHSPE (California High School Proficiency Exam) and tutored them in almost all subject with an emphasis in english and math. I also helped them in dual credit courses at their local community college. I have experience in all subjects and am especially great at math.

I have a very easy-going and relatable personality that helps students develop academically while still having a great time. Working alongside your student to achieve their specific educational goals is something I am honored to partake in. There are always ways to make learning enjoyable, regardless of the subject. I intend on finding ways to keep students engaged even if they dislike or are struggling with the subject. I believe every student has a different way of learning that is most effective for them, and therefore I try to tailor how I tutor to their specific way of learning.

I understand many students may dislike math, but I find ways to make it interesting and fun. I have had three years of experience primarily tutoring in math for high schoolers. My SAT scores were the highest in the math subject and I always took AP math in school. Since my marketing degree was encompassed in the business school, I was required to take many math and courses that dealt with numbers. Math has always been my favorite and best subject throughout my years of being a student. English is something I also have taken advanced classes and enjoy tutoring in. I used to tutor a 16 year old in writing papers, because I am especially great at organizing, editing, and formatting essays.

I am easy to reach and will respond within 24 hours. Even though I will be aiding your student in their learning process, I believe I will learn from your student as well. Learning and teaching are not mutually exclusive. I can't wait to make your student's learning process more smooth and enjoyable. Feel free to reach out!

I graduated with Cum Laude honors from University of Texas Permian Basin with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
