About Sae hoon
We are a group of highly trained and qualified SAT/ACT, GPA-tacklers focused on managing a customized lesson plan for every individual's study progresses and providing the most efficient and on-point lessons and materials. Our classes can be either virtual or in-person.
David started his team in 2014 when he was a main SAT/ACT lecturer in Gangnam, Korea, and taught 400+ students. With these experiences, the teachers regularly meet to discuss the approaches and improve the teaching techniques.
Our founder, David Kim, and the team believe that anybody can stand out from the rest when met with the right approach at the right time and Outside Box Academy can provide you with that.
When differently experienced tutors with the same passion meet together, they can formulate an ideal result with a limitless number of approaches. Our lesson styles have been forged by several veterans with their experiences and research in scientific and empirical data.
These styles have led many of our students to their dream schools such as USC, Princeton, Columbia, UCLA, UIUC, NYU, and more. That is us thinking outside the box and leading our students out of the box.
SAT/ACT:
❖ We provide every studying material including Free Diagnostic tests to analyze the student's strengths/weaknesses /studying habits and test-taking behaviors.
Then we formulate a personalized plan to develop a mistake-proof test-taking ability by strengthening the lacking foundations and learning the special SAT/ACT strategies that were only passed down in SAT academies in Korea and China. We provide different approaches to each individual at different score ranges, our students achieve 200+ on average after our help.
Middle/High School GPA:
❖ We provide intensive personalized care to the students while analyzing their weaknesses and motivation factors. We focus on building rapport with the student and guiding them to love what they are studying and providing proficient lesson plans to not waste their time. The students will practice with predicted problems for their school finals that have had high chance of appearing.
We make daily records and provide bi-weekly reports for the parent too.
College Admissions:
❖ We start with estimating the student's potential standing in the
admissions market by analyzing current GPA, test scores, extracurricular
activities, volunteer experiences, dream schools/major, and more. Then we
provide a visual report on it during the consultation. This will give the
counselor and the student/guardian a good start on the college
application process. Then we follow up with working together on the
qualifications, game plan, and building application and essays.
❖ We can even provide assistance right up to the moment you click the
application submit button.
College Course Tutoring:
❖ Our tutors who have at least Masters's degree on Science/Economics/English can help you study what you are lacking and need practice in. This is done virtually.

I studied SAT with David for summer and winter break when I was a junior in HS. I was sick of the other schools and tutors who would just make me do practice questions and go over it, because not only that it was repetitive but also I saw no improvement. David was different, because he actually made me realize that I learnt my english totally wrong even though I went through the whole K-12 in the US, because I didn't know that there were so many structures to grammar and easy tricks to solving SAT questions.
He really is a great teacher. I was able to make it to UCLA thanks to him. Really highly recommend, my best teacher for life.View more recommendations
