About Marie
I am a retired Archdiocese Science and Math teacher who loves that "aha" moment when a student masters a concept in Math. I have successfully tutored some Reading and Math students in-person during the school year, for 13 years. Now that I have retired, I would like to set up a tutoring business to keep my skills sharp, and earn a little extra money. I have a profile on LinkedIn but it needs to be updated to reflect my retirement this year.
What I enjoy most is when students let me know that they have been successful, either by test scores or progressing onto more complex problems in a given concept. Nothing is better that the smile of victory that comes across a student's face!
I have a Bachelors in Mathematics from Dominican University. I have taught GED math (mainly Algebra) at Triton and Central States SER. I was the Math Teacher in the room while working with YCCS Virtual High School(K12 Curriculum) for 4 years.

Perfect! My daughter has some developmental delays which require special attention and support. The pandemic compounded her struggles, particularly in math as the additional one-on-one instruction was receiving was not available remotely. We've been working to get our daughter the support she needs but school resources are spread thin. We sought additional tutoring to help with math and we were very lucky to find Marie. As a retired math teacher, she has the experience and skills that we'd hoped to get through our daughter's school. Marie is great with kids, patient, and really excels at helping kids struggling with math concepts. We are so thankful that we found Marie, a true gem.

Marie tutored my 9 year old granddaughter in Math and Reading. She was almost 2 grades behind and in a special classroom. After working with Marie for a few months, my granddaughter was put into a Regular classroom with her friends. Marie was very patient and understanding. My granddaughter enjoyed spending time with Marie. Now my granddaughter enjoys school much more and is excelling in all her classes.
