About Lauren
As a college student, I can more easily relate to teenagers, and that enables me to explain math concepts in ways that may be more understandable.
I also try to build good relationships with my students, because it is my belief that a good relationship is very beneficial to the students overall success.
I started tutoring as a senior in highschool. Due to my advanced curiculum, I was able to help students in many different grade levels. I worked with both middle and high school students taking classes ranging from Sixth-Grade Math to Trigonometry and Precalculus.
I am majoring in mathematics and have taken many classes. I also was a member of a mathematics honor society where we voluntarily tutored other students. However, I recently began my own private tutoring due Covid measures restricting our free tutoring.

For long term students: Typically I begin with an introdutory session where I introduce myself as well as get to know the student. This is vital because my understanding of the student helps me to learn the best ways to communicate and teach them. In this session, I will also take a broad look at the students curriculum. If there is time left over, I will begin to work over problems with them.
For short term students: There is a quick introduction and we get right to work. My definition of short term student is one who is working with me for an upcoming test or one who doesn't want/ need constant meetings.
I have worked with middle school students and high school students.
The most important aspect of choosing a teacher is if you (the student) can understand their methods and explanations.
