About Mary
I believe that all children can achieve their maximum potential with a little care. I am a retired public school teacher with 28 years of experience. My certification is grades 1-8, all subjects. After retiring, I discovered I wasn't finished. I wanted to do more, but with 5 grandchildren, I needed some flexiblilty. I would love to help your child achieve their maximum potential.
I enjoy seeing students learn. When that light bulb goes off, and they finally understand, it is the best feeling in the world. Kids are so much fun and their laughter is infectious!
I am a retire public school teacher with 28 years experience. My certifications is grades 1-8, all subjects. The majority of my teaching was in 5th grade reading and math. During the last 7 years of career I was the Elementary Dean and Director of Pupil Personel for my school district.

First of all, we need to get to know each other. Making a connection is very important to form trust with a student. We would do some initial testing or if the student needs help with homework, we can work together on that. I like to ask questions to get the student to figure out the answer for themself. Then we have a little celebration!
