About Thomas
I am New York City based photographer and have been shooting for over 20 years: from Madison Square Garden to the Shuar tribe in the Ecuadorian jungle; from film sets in Vancouver, B.C. to Charleston, S.C.; and product launches to corporate events; to the wild underground party scene in NYC. I have done projects or assignments for publications including The New York Times, Time Out NY and Life Magazine.
My work is all about being in the moment and having people experience my photographs as though they were there experiencing what I did when I took it. I love photography and love teaching.

What I love about photography is the ability to tell a visual story in one frame that reflects some aspect of who I am or what I have experienced that matters to me in a way that is palpable to others. What I love about teaching is all about the exploration of possibilities for someone and the Aha's of discovery that happen along the way. Ultimately, photography is really about seeing one's world in a unique distinctive way and being able to articulate that with whatever gear one has. A camera is a tool and to use it like a painter uses a paintbrush, the first step is to understand how to get what you want from whatever equipment you have - either phone or high end pro gear. Once familiarity with one's equipment is learned, then the ability to consciously create and express oneself really takes off and there are no words for that joy...
