About Cassie

I am a fun and upbeat teacher with high standards. Students in my studio will be in a learning environment that teaches them to enjoy playing the piano. They will desire to practice at home and improve their skills because they enjoy it!

I am an almost life long musician. I began taking piano lessons at the age of 4. My childhood teachers inspired me to have fun playing the piano and improve my skills as a pianist. I have played the piano for 30+ years.

I continued playing the piano into high school. While in high school, I began singing in high school choirs. I quickly moved up to the highest level of choir. I found that I enjoyed practicing and improving as a musician, as well as performing.

I attended the University of Arizona, receiving my Bachelor's degree in Music Education in 2001.

I was a full time general music teacher for 4 years at an elementary school in Tucson, AZ. I had the opportunity to conduct the school choir in addition to teaching. I began teaching piano lessons during these 4 years. I have taught piano for 15+ years.

I continue to teach in many ways, though I don't currently teach in a public school. I also continue to use my musical talents. I co-teach and co-lead in my Church children's organization (called Primary). I sing in the Colorado Mormon Chorale. I have provided training for Primary teachers and Primary music leaders recently.

It is of great importance to me that teaching is high quality. Your child will enjoy playing the piano as my student and improve consistently.

You can find me on Facebook at Cassie Miller Piano Studio and at (concealed information)

I completely enjoy seeing students light up with learning and "getting" new concepts. I use the energy from those moments to inspire my students to learn more, play with joy, and practice.

I loved playing the piano at a young age. I loved babysitting. I began working at a daycare in high school, and got my first glimpse into teaching then. I was enchanted by the connection a teacher and child have, and how kids learn. That started me on the path to teaching.

I offer a free first lesson. For student who are beginners, I introduce how to sit at the piano. Then I introduce finger numbers. My goal is to get new students to play the piano as soon as possible and experience success at playing. Next, I get them playing high and low, Black keys, and more.

I have worked mostly with beginner and intermediate students.

First, I would find a teacher that offers a trial lesson. I know that the cost of lessons is important, but it's just as important to find a teacher you like and will be a good fit for you. A trial lessons give you a lot of info about the teacher. It also allows the teacher to get to know you. Second, I would look for a teacher that charges a reasonable price for their expertise, level of education, and for the area you live in.

I currently have a student that loves theory, especially written theory assignments. I get a kick every week I assign her written theory, because she can't wait to start it. She tries to complete it during the lesson.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. What materials will I need? Am I responsible for purchasing them or is it a part of the cost of tuition? What is the approximate cost of lessons?

2. What strategies will you employ when lessons are tough, I don't feel like I should practice, or I hit a wall in my progress?

3. Do you have a written studio policy? Does it include cost of tuition, cancellation policy, and missed day policies?

4. What is the best way to contact you?

5. Do I have a say in what songs I play and what I learn?
