About Franco

I can teach in English and Spanish.

I have strong social skills and like to make people comfortable. I'm also a person who loves to be challenged, and no matter who, I will always try to find the best solution in every situation. I had great experiences teaching students, and I'm proud that some of my students have decided to start a music career after taking lessons with me. I'm passionate, and I like to share that in music class.

I have a Bachelors in Choral Conducting (2014) and Piano Pedagogy (2020) from the Conservatorio de Música Isaías Orbe of Tandil (Argnetina)

I have a Master in Music in Choral Conducting (2022) from Carthage College (WI, USA)

I'm a current Doctoral student in Choral Conducting at the University of Houston (2025).

I love to share what I know authentically. Since I believe that everyone can play music, I enjoy seeing the learning process of every student that I have. I also like to play/ sing for my students and with my students in class.

I started in 2011 teaching private lessons, and I also worked in middle school and high school in Argentina from 2014 to 2020 teaching Aural Skills, Choral Singing, Piano, and Music Appreciation. I also taught Music History, Choral Singing, and Repertoire Analysis at the Conservatory of Music of Tandil (Argentina) for Music Educators. In the US, I worked as a Target Language Expert at Carthage College, teaching Spanish at the Undergraduate Level and as a Choral Assistant of Carthage Choir.

I'm a professional musician with a strong background in Singing, Piano, and Choral Conducting.

EXPERIENCE:

I started in 2011 teaching singing, piano, and aural skills privately at home.

I also worked in middle school and high school in Argentina from 2014 to 2020, teaching Aural Skills, Choral Singing, Piano, and Music Appreciation.

As a choral director, I conducted the Children's Choir of Laprida, the Comunity Choir of Laprida, and the Chamber Choir of the National University of Mar del Plata (Argentina). I also worked as Conductor Assistant and Vocal Coach of the Comunity Choir of Tandil (Argentina).

1. Knowing each other. I like to understand what are the interests of my students and see what the best way to help them is.

2. Make them play right away. I need to have my students experience the music performing as soon as possible.

3. Homework. It is important to build the habit of studying and playing daily. I will help my students plan their studies with easy exercises that will not take too much time and build solid musical skills quickly.

4. Assign music they like to play. The students need to be motivated not only to learn music but also by the music.

I did work with all kinds of students during my career as a pedagogue. In Argentina, I worked in private and public schools with a huge variety of students in my class regarding diversity.

I did work with students from 6 years old until 85+. I have also experience working with students with disabilities and in general, I can say that I have a special sensibility to work with them.

Always try to find someone that fits your interests and makes you feel comfortable. It will take you a couple of lessons to notice if that is what you are looking for or not.

I'm surrounded by musical experiences. This summer I had a high-level choral trip in Ireland, I took Orchestral Conducting lessons, and I did a Choral Workshop and a Concert with the Chamber Choir of Mar del Plata in Argentina. I did an impromptu concert singing with a friend in Laprida (Argentina). I did a Choral Reading Session at Carthage College (Wisconsin) and I will start singing and working at the Houston Symphony Chorus in the incoming season.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why do I want to learn music?

How does that contribute to my daily life?

What is my goal?

Am I willing to make an effort to learn?

Am I open to receiving guidance from my teacher?
