About Cara
📣 "A powerhouse of unique sound." - Broadway World
🌎 Let a professional performer who has traveled the globe singing jazz and contemporary music, help YOU access YOUR voice and artistry!
🗽 From 2012-2020, I worked as a full-time jazz singer throughout NYC and abroad. In 2020, I joined the music faculty at Lindenwood University as Adjunct Instructor of Jazz/Contemporary Voice and Songwriting.
🌠 I find great joy in helping students access more vocal resonance and personal power with their voices. My ability to meet people wherever they are and help them further their goals is what it’s all about! A working professional, I’ve “been there, done that”, so I am well-equipped with techniques and approaches to help YOU fulfill your singing, performing, and musical aspirations. Whether you have been singing for decades or are entirely new to the process, I’m excited to support you on your journey of vocal discovery!
To break it down, I can help you focus on…
——————————————————————————————————————————
✨🫁✨Forming Healthy Vocal Habits
——————————————————————————————————————————
These vocal techniques will set up your foundation for success. Whether it's breathwork, singing scales, learning traditional etudes, or contemporary songs… focusing on HOW you are singing will give you the most “bang for your buck” in helping you share more of YOUR voice with the world AND with more confidence.
——————————————————————————————————————————
✨🗣️✨Your Authentic Sound
——————————————————————————————————————————
Through practicing "Bel Canto" technique, which is Italian for "Beautiful Singing", we will uncover your unique sound and fully embrace your resonance. From there, we will work through different styles and genres to expand your stylistic toolkit and repertoire to express yourself.
——————————————————————————————————————————
✨🎼✨Repertoire / Song Selection / Audition Preparation
——————————————————————————————————————————
As a successful bandleader, I managed and directed over 50 musicians annually to achieve specific goals in three bands throughout NYC and abroad. Let me help you craft a songbook / audition / setlist / showcase / etc. that you feel highlights your special talents with confidence! I value stylistic diversity, so we can pull from many genres to find what works best for you and your voice!
——————————————————————————————————————————
✨🎤✨Live Performance Coaching / Public Speaking
——————————————————————————————————————————
Do you have "stage fright"? You are not alone! Want to work on feeling more confident in your live performances, auditions, or presentations? I'd love to help. As a professional performer, connecting with live audiences happens to be one of my specialties! Successful performances require both preparation and performance skills -which can be LEARNED. I can share techniques to help you feel more grounded on stage, more confident in your vocal delivery, and more satisfied that you are getting your message across.
——————————————————————————————————————————
✨✏️✨Songwriting / Lyric Writing
——————————————————————————————————————————
Do you write music? Do you rap? Do you have half-finished projects that need some focus? Are you prolific but don't know which next steps to take? Want to improve your lyrics or "flow"? Let's dive into your lyrics and songwriting and help you create a clear picture of your goals to improve as a writer.
——————————————————————————————————————————
✨🎨✨Artistic Mentoring
——————————————————————————————————————————
Do you need support in finding where your voice feels most natural? Do you want to try new things (genres, styles, writing), but don't have the confidence? Do you want to start a band but don't know how? As a fellow practicing artist, I've come through a bevy of creative blocks and insecurities. But I’ve come full circle to realize that Robert Frost preaches truth when he says: "the best way out is always through". As someone who has walked this path and come out on the other side; I'm happy to hold space for you and share my knowledge and expertise with you on your current journey.
——————————————————————————————————————————
✨🙏🏽✨Self-Acceptance
——————————————————————————————————————————
And last but not least (and this is a BIG one when it comes to singing), MANY people initially struggle with the sound of their own voice... wishing it was more "this" or less "that". In the end, I’m happy to report that oftentimes with vocal training, you will come to uncover the POWER WITHIN YOUR OWN SOUND and VOICE. This is one of the best gifts you can give yourself and one of the deepest aspects of getting to know your voice through vocal training.
