Tessa is an absolutely wonderful voice teacher. It is evident that Tessa tailors the lesson experience to each individual voice and the needs of the singer; she really listens to what her students want to learn and makes the lesson experience feel collaborative. When I was studying with her she helped me make massive breakthroughs in areas of my voice that always plagued me such as the break to chest voice and a productive mixed register; and the discovery of the elusive whistle range. She is warm and personable and really makes the lesson into a comfortable space to grow. Tessa helped me to identify the kind of repertoire I am comfortable singing and what best suits my voice. She does privilege one voice type or quality over another and really made me feel like there is a place for my voice and that it deserves to be heard. I would not trade the four semesters I studied with Tessa for anything. If I had the opportunity I would certainly take lessons from her again.

She is the most amazing mentor and role model. She is amazing technically, but also cares about her students so much. I was so embarrassed by my voice before I began studying with her. Since studying with her I am so much more confident in my voice and in myself. She has supported me in EVERYTHING from voice lessons to everything outside of that. She is an incredible person and I am so grateful that I get to study with her.
