About Lianie
Hi! My name is Lianie, I have been tutoring for the last 2 years. I have a passion for helping others grow, and for this reason I am also a speech therapist. I have a Bachelor's degree in Pyschology and have worked in the public/charter school system since 2018. My goal is to help you succeed in your area of need with excellence and confidence. I tend to be straight to the point by simplifying complex subject matters and am more than willing to repeat confusing topics as many times as needed. I am passionate about teaching and can't wait to work with you! Here's to your success!
I have always had a passion for teaching, in whatever way that may come. I first started because I wanted to explore teaching as a career, and decided I loved it. I didn't want to be a teacher because I prefer individual teacing, and therefore love tutoring because I get to work one-on-one with my students.
I have worked in the school system since 2018. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology but have tutored and taught Reading starting from middle school through the end of high school. I am also a speech therapist and one of my main responsibilities is to have patience in teaching others new skills.

The first step is o get to know the student. I feel strongly that the best way to help a student is to know how they learn most efficiiently. Then, we can begin to hone in on specific questions and work together to achieve confidence in the material given.
I have worked mostly with middle school and high school students while teaching, but have tutored elementary students on the side as well.

Details
Usually, I charge $30/30 minutes ($1/minute). The reason I break it up this way is for students who don't feel they need a full hour. I charge $50 for a full hour ($0.83/minute) to offer a bit of a discount for booking more time with me.
I am willing to negotiate as well if need be, because I truly do have a passion for helping others. But please know that I put a lot of effort in preparing to work with you!
