About Yap
I am a passionate and experienced tutor who believes that learning Mathematics and Additional Mathematics should be both understandable and rewarding. Having taught over 200 students in online classes, I have seen first-hand how the right guidance can transform a student’s confidence and performance. My track record speaks for itself — a 100% passing rate, with more than 80% of my students achieving an A or above in their SPM exams. I started teaching because I know how intimidating math can feel without proper support, and I want to show students that success is within their reach. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to match each individual’s pace and style, ensuring they understand not just the “how” but also the “why” behind every concept. I take pride in creating a professional, encouraging, and results-focused learning environment. My goal is not only to help students score well in exams, but also to equip them with problem-solving skills that will benefit them for life.

I believe every student has the potential to excel when given clear explanations and the right guidance. My teaching style focuses on simplifying complex concepts, breaking them down into easy-to-understand steps, and reinforcing them with plenty of practice questions. I use real exam-style problems to help students build confidence and prepare effectively for SPM.
Each lesson is typically 1.5 hours, allowing enough time for concept explanation, worked examples, and guided practice. I also provide tips for tackling tricky questions and strategies to manage time during exams.
I have taught over 200 students in online classes with a proven 100% passing rate, and over 80% achieving A or above in SPM Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. My lessons are suitable for secondary school students preparing for SPM, whether they are aiming to pass confidently or score top grades.
