About Lily

I am a Yale undergraduate with 7+ years of experience tutoring across a wide range of subjects and student ages. I am confident that I can help you reach your learning goals, too.

I graduated as the valedictorian of my high school and earned national recognition as a 2021 US Presidential Scholar. Throughout high school, I tutored middle school students and my peers, oversaw learning initiatives in the community, and volunteered with the AmeriCorps non-profit Reading Partners.

At Yale, I am earning a degree in Applied Mathematics and French, I tutor for two calculus courses, and I serve as an academic coach for a summer math program. I also tutor privately in French, college advising (including for a Harvard-bound student), music theory, standardized test prep, and more.

About the lesson

I have always loved learning and helping people, so tutoring is a natural passion of mine. Over time, I have honed my ability to tailor lessons to different learning styles. Ultimately, my goal is to provide personalized tutoring that gives a complete understanding of the material. I believe that this way of learning, instead of rote memorization, makes the content enjoyable and applicable to future courses, tasks, or assessments.

I tutor all ages and skill levels, across a range of subjects. These include mathematics from algebra, calculus, differential equations, and everything in between; college advising and standardized test prep; French from the beginner to advanced intermediate level; piano and music theory; and so much more. There is no set lesson plan that I apply to all students; instead, I use a combination of pedagogical techniques based on each student's unique needs.

If you're looking for a dedicated, experienced tutor, please reach out to schedule a lesson! I look forward to working with you!

Perfect! My experience with Lily was great! she is very patient and make's sure you really understand how to do the problems. If you don't understand the problem, she'll personalize it by giving examples more suited towards you that'll help click in your head. All in all She's a very sweet and intelligent person and I look forward to working with her again.

Lily's response
Juan is a great student who was prepared to work hard during the session. He asked questions when things weren’t clear, and made sure to understand the material before we moved on. I look forward to working with him again.
