About Sandra
I am a PhD student at McGill University studying Experimental Medicine. I have a Masters from Aston University in Birmingham, UK in Biomedical Sciences and a bachelors of science in General biology from California State University of Long Beach. I have been teaching and tutoring students of all ages and levels for over 5 years. I have tutored at CSULB, taught English in China, and worked with adult students. I have teaching

My teaching/tutoring methods are centered around the material the student works with first and the style of learning the student prefers. I begin tutoring with asking questions regarding where the student may have issues, how the student likes to learn, what the student's favorite subjects are, what subject are we working on, and what are the realistic goals and expectations from tutoring and school this year. From this assessment I can gauge what weak spots a student has in the subject, in the study habits, and learning style so that I may gauge how I can best help. I have brought in supplemental material such as videos, worksheets, books etc. I teach organizational skills and time-management skills while working within the frame work of how the student best learns.
