About Aaron
I’m an Oxford graduate, a qualified History teacher, and an experienced educator with over 15 years of teaching GCSE and A Level History. I’ve worked with a wide range of students—from those aiming to secure a pass to those striving for top grades—and I currently train teachers and lead professional development, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how students can achieve it.
But more importantly, I’m someone who genuinely enjoys helping students succeed.
I know that History can sometimes feel overwhelming—there’s a lot to remember, essays can feel tricky to structure, and exam questions aren’t always straightforward. My goal is to make all of that clearer, more manageable, and ultimately something you feel confident tackling.
I want to be your tutor because I enjoy seeing that moment when things click—when you understand a topic more deeply, when your writing becomes sharper, or when your confidence grows. I’m here to support you, challenge you, and help you reach your full potential, whatever your starting point.

I’m an Oxford graduate, qualified teacher, and trainer of history teachers, with a track record of helping students achieve ambitious grades. My approach is highly supportive and tailored: I quickly identify gaps, build confidence, and focus on the precise knowledge and exam skills needed to succeed. I specialise in getting students “over the line” — whether that’s securing a pass or pushing into top grades. I have strong experience supporting students with SEN, adapting explanations and strategies so every learner can thrive. Sessions are structured, encouraging, and focused on clear, measurable progress every step of the way.
At the start of our work together, I assess each student’s strengths, gaps in knowledge, and exam technique. From there, I design a personalised programme that targets exactly what they need to succeed—whether that’s mastering key content, improving analytical writing, or refining exam skills.
Each lesson is highly focused and interactive. We typically begin with retrieval practice to strengthen long-term memory, followed by teaching or revisiting key historical knowledge and concepts. I model high-quality answers, break down exam questions, and guide students through how to think like a historian—analysing interpretations, evaluating sources, and constructing clear, sophisticated arguments.
A core part of my teaching is developing excellent exam technique. Students practise past questions regularly, receive precise, actionable feedback, and learn exactly how to meet mark scheme criteria to achieve top grades.
