About Suri
I have over ten years of experience as a singing tutor and hold a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialise in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after a break. My lessons create a low-pressure, encouraging space where you can feel comfortable and confident while learning. I focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, and posture to help your voice flow naturally. Mindfulness in music is a big part of my teaching. It helps you connect deeply with your voice and develop a rich, expressive tone. I teach a variety of styles, including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult music, so you can explore what you love. My goal is to help you discover singing as a form of self-care, creativity, and confidence. Whether you’re starting fresh or picking up where you left off, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Singing can be for everyone, at any age. Let’s begin your singing journey together—one that’s joyful, relaxed, and full of growth.

My voice lessons focus on building strong breathing techniques and maintaining vocal health, essential for every singer. For Suzuki students, I emphasise gentle, steady breath control to support clear, natural singing. They learn pitch training through playful ear exercises and apps that track their progress, making practice fun and rewarding. Performance skills for them are about building confidence and emotional connection to the music. Orchestra members have a different focus. Their lessons include advanced breath support to handle longer phrases and dynamic singing. Pitch accuracy is key, so I use specialised apps and exercises to sharpen their ear and blend their voice with the group. They also work on expressive singing, helping their voice match the emotion and style of orchestral pieces. Both groups benefit from warm-up routines that protect their voice and prepare them for singing. I teach healthy vocal habits to avoid strain and keep their voices strong. Whether you’re learning Suzuki or performing in an orchestra, my approach adapts to your needs, helping you grow as a confident and expressive singer.
