About Lorenzo
I am a FIDE Master competing at the highest levels of international youth chess. With over 10 years of tournament experience, I currently hold a FIDE rating of 2350+ and an ECF rating of 2500.
My career highlights include:
Winner of the British Chess Championships Major Open (2024)
2x Italian Youth Champion
2nd at the U20 Italian Championships (2025)
Representative for Italy at multiple World and European Youth Championships.
Online, I maintain blitz and bullet ratings between 2750–2850 on Chess.com, where I regularly compete against and defeat GMs and IMs.
My Coaching Philosophy
As a young player still actively training for my own Grandmaster goals, I am deeply immersed in the "grind" of modern chess. I don't just teach dry theory; I teach the practical, high-energy chess required to win in today’s competitive environment.
I am dedicated to passing on my passion for chess and my personal motivation to improve to every one of my students. I believe that while technical skill is vital, developing a genuine love for the game and a growth mindset is what truly leads to long-term success.

I work with players of all levels, from beginners to ambitious tournament competitors. My teaching is built on understanding rather than pure memorisation. I want to help you reach a point where strong, logical decisions feel intuitive.
The lessons will consist of:
Personalised Analysis: We will analyse your games to identify the specific "flaws" in your thinking process.
Modern Repertoire: You will build an opening range that suits your style and is backed by modern engine insights.
Training Resources: You will receive access to my personal collection of PGN files, curated exercises, and instructive materials.
Support: I provide tailored homework and am always available for questions between lessons.
Your progress is my priority, and I’m always happy to celebrate your breakthroughs and tournament wins with you!

Perfect! Our 11 year old son had a fantastic first lesson with Lorenzo!
