About Vinay
Hi! My name is Vinay. I am a final-year medical student with a passion for good teaching and the sciences.
Through lots of studying and hard work at school, I am now where I am - on the cusp of becoming a doctor and graduating from a globally renowned university and medical school. However, I wouldn't be here without amazing guidance from tutors before me and this is what inspires me to be a tutor.
I have become a parent favourite before because of my affordable lessons and great student feedback. By balancing focussed, productive lessons with fun learning experiences, I ensure that students cover lots of content whilst also feeling happier and more confident.
About me - I regularly engage with my local community sports clubs particularly basketball and football teams. This started when I was the lead on my university medics basketball team. I am also an avid reader and love keeping up with the latest medical technology advances.

My approach has worked very well in the past when I have tutored a number of GCSE and A-level students to their target grades for their exams. Similarly, I follow this method when conducting teaching series for medical students; I have received a lot of positive feedback about how I have improved their understanding and confidence overall.
The typical length of my lessons is 45 minutes to 1 hour; this is an optimal time to allow for focusing into a session and also teaching a new chunk of the syllabus.
I would describe my lessons and teaching to be very time-efficient and engaging. This is because I truly understand the time constraints of a busy, hardworking pupil given other subject commitments.
Once meeting with the parent and pupil, I like to create a long-term lesson schedule based on the grade desired and my own experience in absorbing specification content.
My lesson structures fall into three parts - sticking to the specification, ensuring the pupil has an adequate understanding, and then timed practice. I am a big believer in quickly building up to practice questions and mini-mocks. At a minimum, I believe in helping a pupil to become very well-practiced in picking up marks in questions and using technical terminology to rely on.
Lastly, and most importantly, I ensure to make my pupils comfortable and happy in their lessons. My approach to lessons has proven effective in every pupil I have taught, but it does push pupils hard. Therefore, I always endeavor to make the lesson space a fun and inviting time. I do this through a range of techniques such as using open and healthy conversations, putting up colorful and engaging diagrams, and relating what pupils learn to wider world scenarios.
