About Thomas
Hi! I’m Thomas, an American tutor passionate about language learning and cross-cultural communication. I studied Finance and Chinese at the University of Minnesota and have lived and studied in Taiwan, where I gained first-hand experience helping students improve their English for academic and professional goals. As someone who has learned Chinese for many years, I understand how challenging mastering a foreign language can be — and I use that understanding to create a supportive, encouraging environment for my students. My lessons focus on clarity, confidence, and real-world communication, whether you’re preparing for study abroad, professional interviews, or everyday conversations. Hello! I’m Thomas, an American tutor with a background in Finance and Chinese Language Studies. My teaching approach focuses on practical, confidence-building English — helping Chinese learners speak naturally in real-life situations, whether for school, work, or travel.
In each lesson, I begin with a short conversation warm-up to get students comfortable speaking.
