In my lesson, I focus on engaging students through interactive activities that cater to various learning styles. I start with a brief introduction to the topic, ensuring that students understand the objectives. Then, I incorporate a mix of 1-1 discussions, multimedia resources, and hands-on exercises to encourage participation and critical thinking. For example, when exploring literature, I might have students read parts from a text, such as "Oliver Twist," and discuss character motivations and social issues. I emphasise the importance of connecting the material to their own lives and the historical context, which helps deepen their understanding. Moreover, I have helped students with learning difficulties who struggle with speech and language, starting off with things basic as spelling, reading, phonics and writing. Assessment is ongoing, with informal check-ins during the lesson and more structured evaluations through quizzes and written assignments. This approach not only helps students grasp the content but also builds their confidence in using the English language effectively.
