About James
I am writing my thesis for a PhD in chemical engineering, and I want to do professional research in the future. I have been privately tutoring one high school student in mathematics for two years, and have done one off or intermittent lessons with others in maths and chemistry.

I enjoy teaching and passing on knowledge just as I enjoy learning and finding out new things myself. My main goal is to make learning something a student looks forward to and takes an interest in, and I am flexible in how to achieve that, whether it is following a school or university's curriculum or something more specialised. I draw on my own experience as a student in explaining concepts and techniques, and also try to show real-world examples of why what is being taught is important knowledge.
