About Alisha
I have recently graduated from the University of York with First-Class Honours with Distinction in Biomedical Sciences. During my studies I was also awarded with the highest academic performance during my first and second years. I completed an industrial placement with pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, during which I independently designed and implemented a laboratory project relating to the immune system and drug development.
During my time at university and whilst on placement I have assisted numerous peers and colleagues in understanding both the theory and practical applications of biology topics. I am a passionate learner myself, and am enthusiastic about helping others develop their knowledge.

The most important thing is that my lessons will be individually tailored to you! We will focus on questions you have, topics you don't fully understand and making your learning as fun and engaging as possible!
I fully appreciate the importance of 'understanding' rather than 'memorising'. My lessons will be centred on ensuring a strong understanding of topics before consolidating that learning through quizzes and memory recall activities. I will incorporate a wide range of study styles, including writing activities, verbal discussion and will use visual aids (e.g. diagrams) to support my teaching.
