For the humanities, I believe the best results are achieved by thinking broadly and critically about the subject. In my experience, this is achieved primarily through encouraging and developing independent learning and research, rather than simply consuming and revising materials. Crucially, the ability to convey oneself effectively in an essay is of paramount importance and I favour the analysis and evaluation of a student's written work in order to boost their grades.
