About Johnny
I've been teaching guitar since 2012 in Northumberland handling 25 weekly students. I've recently moved to Guildford and wish to continue teaching.
I received my Grade 8 in electric guitar in 2012 and have been regularly playing in various bands/projects ever since.
In terms of teaching grades and styles, I primarily teach Rock/Pop/Jazz/Metal/Folk on the Electric/Acoustic guitar. My background involves teaching students RGT Grades 1-8 as well as learning songs and arrangements.

My teaching style is based on their ability.
For beginners, I encourage learning basic chords/scales with the intention of using them in a song.
For intermediates and advanced, I encourage learning Grades to make lessons more purposeful. My format follows a monthly cycle. Namely three weeks of grades, followed by one week of a more relaxed lesson based on songs of the students choosing. I've found this works as it prevents students becoming bored, whilst allowing them to learn essential skills.
