About Baichen
Hi, I’m Baichen! I am a first-year student at the University of Auckland, double majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Having recently finished high school, the NCEA syllabus is completely fresh in my mind. I graduated with NCEA Level 3 Excellence, an Outstanding Scholarship in Calculus, a Scholarship in Digital Technologies, and an ATAR of 96.70. I also completed COSC122: Introduction to Computer Science at the University of Canterbury during high school with an A+.
I have always had a deep passion for STEM subjects. I know firsthand how stressful high school exams can be, and I want to use my recent experience to help other students not just survive NCEA, but truly dominate it. I want to pass on the exact strategies and study habits I used to achieve top national results.
I am fluent in both English and Mandarin, and I am incredibly excited to help you build your confidence and reach your highest academic goals!

I believe true academic success comes from understanding how to think, not just what to memorise. In our lessons, I will break down the underlying logic of difficult concepts and teach you how to understand the mindset of the examiners.
By recognising the patterns of question setters, you will be confidently prepared for both standard exam formats and unexpected, innovative questions.
As a first-year UoA Maths & CompSci major with an Outstanding NCEA Calculus Scholarship, I offer highly tailored lessons in:
• Calculus (NCEA Levels 1-3 + Scholarship)
• Physics (NCEA Levels 1-3)
Whether we are working on basic foundations or pushing for Excellence endorsements, I adapt my teaching style to your specific needs. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can be taught in either English or Mandarin.
