About Trey
With 10 years of flute teaching experience and more than 150 students guided, I am committed to helping learners of all levels achieve their musical goals. I focus on building strong technical skills—breath control, tone, finger dexterity, and rhythm—while fostering creativity, improvisation, and expressive playing.
Lessons are customised to each student’s learning style and goals, ensuring steady progress and engagement. I also teach sight-reading, music theory, and performance preparation to provide a well-rounded musical foundation. My mission is to help students grow into skilled, confident, and inspired flautists.

My flute teaching methodology is designed to provide a flexible, collaborative, and supportive learning experience. I begin by understanding each student’s learning style and tailoring lessons to their strengths, pace, and musical interests. This ensures lessons are engaging, productive, and enjoyable.
Flexibility allows me to adjust exercises, repertoire, and practice techniques according to the student’s goals and progress. Collaboration is emphasised through duets, ensemble practice, and interactive exercises that strengthen confidence, musical communication, and expressive skill. Positivity guides every lesson, creating a nurturing environment where students feel inspired to experiment, take risks, and celebrate achievements.
Alongside flute instruction, I include music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This comprehensive methodology balances technical skill with creative expression, helping students develop into confident, skilled, and passionate musicians.
