About Anya
I am currently a first-year student at Trent University enrolled in the Forensic Science program. I am a big animal lover my favorite being a whale shark! You can ask me anything about them and I will tell you. I am also a lover of art and music. I am a dancer and a guitar player so art is an extremely big part of my life. My favorite music artists are Phoebe Bridgers, Noah Kahan, and Gracie Abrams and I LOVE going to concerts. Overall, I am a very energetic and curious person but I am also very studious and focused. I take school very seriously and was an A student throughout all of high school. I hope to pass on my knowledge to my students and give them the tips and tricks they need to learn and understand better.

I am a very patient and understanding tutor as I am someone who has always struggled with school and needed a tutor to ask all my questions to all throughout middle and high school. My focus when tutoring is to first ensure the student has a basic understanding of the concepts of what they are learning. I always start my tutoring sessions by letting the student tell me what they want to get out of the session and if there are any specific questions or concepts they want to go over or practice. I then go deeper into the focus and either let the student lead the direction the lesson goes in, or if they don't feel comfortable doing so I can lead the lesson and walk them through the concepts. I want my students to always feel safe to ask me anything even if it seems like a "bad" question. There are no bad questions!!!!! I will always go at the pace needed for the student and go back to important concepts to ensure they fully understand what's going on. Overall I am a very kind, organized, and student-focused tutor who will always put my students' success first.
